The Medellín, Colombia-based producer, Osccurate, joins SYNTHICIDE with the Computer Decay EP, an amalgamation of brash EBM wrangled in by main room dancefloor sensibilities. It is ammo for the club—without being overpowering—as Osccurate pulls all the stops here with his ability to produce sleek, yet feverish, music.

Computer Decay begins with “The Witch and the Moon,” setting the tone of the EP with its magic-laden spook. Here, Osccurate utilizes his guitar work, a staple in his productions, that adds an element of desire amidst a ferocious bassline. The title track (as a collaboration with the Bogotá artist, Galope Messier) beckons the listener into pitch black desolation. Steady and sure, “Computer Decay” builds to its apex, crashing into a whirlwind of energy with cavernous, haunting vocals. “Ñalazos”’ acidic and coarse bassline carries the track through to a shock of ravey synths that feel hysteric as they swell alongside vocals that chant, “dance with the groove, all you’ve got to do is move.”

The Mexican duo, Red Deviil, keep things in the SYNTHICIDE family with a remix of “Computer Decay.” They injected their severe but steady EBM-tinged techno into the track, while Colombian artist, Mundus, dives straight into the most dismal pits of hell with hammer samples and accentuated snares. With the Computer Decay EP, Osccurate takes complete control, barreling into the bleakest corners of dance music with dangerous, but exciting, production offerings.

SYNTHICIDE is a party and label that has nurtured dark synth-driven music in Brooklyn, New York since January 2014.
