The gothic- and darkwave – culture is known for being consistent. Bands of the dark-scene exist for decades. This also applies to On The Floor. It’s 2017 and they are back - raring to go with the new album „Made Of Scars“.Hailing from Hamburg/Germany On The Floor is well known to the scene. Already in 1999 singer Helge Jungmann, guitarist Henning Thurow, bassist Dennis Lindner and his brother - guitarist and songwriter - André Lindner released the sold out EP „Waiting For The Summer“. Followed by gigs with Catastrophe Ballet, Girls Under Glass and Zeraphine. 2003 the debut-album „Under A Heart-Shaped Sun“ saw the light of day. The clubhit „Killing Queen“ became a floorfiller. From then on On The Floor played with bands like Clan of Xymox or Phillip Boa & the Voodooclub and entered the WGT-festival in Leipzig/Germany.
Here we are… counting our scars – wondering about the things to come.
In 2017 On The Floor again appears before the public. In the meantime the musicians permanently worked on new material - experimenting with songwriting and production.
The dedication has been worthwhile. Whereas „Under A Heart-Shaped Sun“ has been reflecting on the wish of being individual and youthful uprising, „Made Of Scars“ is dealing with the results of this process. The loss of innocence and becoming more mature gave place for the composure to express feelings more directly.
Therefore On The Floor puts it in a nutshell - using naturally the suitable surroundings for the songs. The results are sometimes more rocking and sometimes more electric – but definitely distinctive.
From Hamburg with love and...
For what reason a new album after 14 years? For it has to be done. And they will do it again. „Made Of Scars“ is the opening act of the bands second era. Live – and with an album full of emotions, hope and experience.
