The Colors EP is an experiment for Daniel Voicians. The seven songs present were mostly strays that had been languishing in the closet, some of them for up to two years. When gathered together under the banner of the newly written title track, however, the compositions coalesced perfectly into a previously unheard facet of the Voicians sound. Missing are the penetrating Drum'n'Bass rhythms, gone are the huge alt.metal guitar riffs. Instead, Colors trades on icy indie pop and airy electronic rock that soars with orchestral strings, whimsical vocal samples, and even a touch of banjo.
