Azizdeg – means to clean your feelings. Seeing
with the eye of truth means uncovering the
truth, removing the dust, and courageously
facing existence.
Since 2017 the band has worked with songwriting and making the beats to the lyrics.
The songs mirror real facts of life in their
region. The band confirmed the songs in
events, and their audience loved the music.
Many asked about an album, but the chances
were small to fund it alone.
Surprisingly the key to record the album, came
from Canada. Nathalie Lévesque – Marchande
d’idées interculturelles, curator of intercultural projects,
who introduced Tarwa N-Tiniri to “Simon
and Greg Record the World”. They travel around
the world, record talented artists and make
videos about it. January 2019 Simon and Greg
arrived Ouarzazate for recording the album.
They rigged themselves to the music-garage
of the band. The band played very tight after
practising for month together. After a week
in Studio Garage, the album Azizdeg was
recorded. This intercultural collaboration was
the best gift from Canada to the band from
southeast of Morocco. With their nomadic
heritage Tarwa N-Tiniri will give their music
to the world.
Tarwa N-Tiniri, which means: sons of the desert. Are from the same neighbourhood in Ouarzazate,
the city at the edge of the desert, also well known as Africa’s Hollywood.
They always have the
Amazigh heritage and culture in the centre of their lives since they are part of nomadic families.
They cherish the music traditions, tea sessions and making food.
