SONGS OF TRANSFORMATION is centred around the repetitions and intricacies of Max Eastley’s sound-sculptural sensibilities, interacting with the intricate response of Martyn Bates’ singing – the singing of ballads of transfiguration and magic – renditions of folk song / traditional songs.
* (Brief note re Max Eastley : Max is a musician, sound sculptor, instrument maker & composer, whose work investigates the relationship of chance to music using shadow projections, graphic scores and kinetic sound machines operated by the agency of electric motors, water, air or the environmental forces of wind, streams and sea : the implications are sculptural, ecological, architectural, theatrical and musical) .
