"Female Voices Of Metal And Rock are pleased to present our review of the excellent new Luna Reign album “Ghost Train” which was released on 28th February 2025.
If you’re currently feeling stressed with life, or even if you’re not but just need some much-needed downtime I can highly recommend taking a very therapeutic and healing ride on the gothic metal “Ghost Train” with the spooktacular new album from Luna Reign.
Kick off your shoes, find a comfy position either sitting or lying, shut your eyes, hit the play button and let Luna Reign take the strain as you completely recharge those batteries.
After pulling out of “The Station of Lost Souls” we embark upon a sensual and sonic journey back through time to the New Romantic period of the early 80s and the birth of that synth/guitar fusion that left us in awe. The retro gothic industrial sound of amazing tracks like “Still Life” and “Too real” bring it all flooding back like the memories of my youth. How I miss those days!
Slower and softer songs like the aptly named “Tip Toe,” “E Pain” and “Further from the Truth” take things down a notch or two before the delightfully dreamy “The Excommunication” transports you to another dimensional plain altogether and leaves you completely chilled out.
Remastered and faster thumping track “The Hammer” has a lovely Siouxsie and the Banshees feel to it whereas the cool as you like “Echo Chamber” doesn’t even break into a sweat as it serenely drifts along before the stormy “Hurricane” rolls in on a big black cloud.
Before we know it, we have already reached the “End Of The Line” and the climax of this fabulous album. If you are a fan of that retro gothic metal sound then you should definitely check out “Ghost Train” because Luna Reign make it sound just as good as you remember! Highly recommended!
