Very excited to share a brand new collection of solo guitar pieces by Arian Shafiee. Subtitled “6 Pieces for MIDI Guitar,” these compositions run the gamut from minimal, disarmingly and beautifully simple works, to expansive and engrossing sonic spaces. Pacific Medications is at times shimmery and reverberating and repetitive—showcasing continual and gradual guitar exercises and the important negative space in between. In other moments, the guitar transforms into a rhythmic cacophony of blissful tones (“Thrumming”) or a thick wall of lush, steadily moving ambience (“Alluvial”). All in all, Pacific Medications is a pretty perfect primer into Shafiee’s deftness and varied talents with the guitar and its myriad applications.
