This joint started in an unnamed thrift store in Northern Mexico, where I stumbled upon an old stash of dusty vinyl fresh out of a hoarders basement. The place smelled like a combination of The Roaring 20's and old spice... The smell of wisdom. Fate. I Picked up an old Al Jarreau record, made the purchase, put the needle to the record, chopped, snipped and flipped it, then hit up Saara & Nick to lay down some magic. Created by Jonah Christian, Amir Oosman, and Robert Finucane, our productions consist of live recordings of the instrumentalists in our collective (Drums, Rhodes, Sax, Trumpet, Bass) mixed intermittently with vinyl sample chops. The resulting music is a fusion of crisp instrumental sound and that vintage vinyl vibe that so many of us hip hop heads have grown to love.
