Dutch Italo-house purveyor and revered selector DOCTR joins Feinstoff with ‘Lucy’s Dream,’ a two-track EP dripping in euphoria and sophistication, featuring powerful remixes from visionary label head Freudenthal and pioneering producer Lauer adding his ever-groundbreaking sound.

With nods to the early Chicago house scene and the golden era of Italo Disco, the title track ‘Lucy’s Dream’ propels us into a feel-good, sun-drenched anthem, transporting the listener to day parties of the past and present. Shimmering piano stabs sit above a defined analogue bassline, with swelling synth lines slicing through the mix. A beautifully harnessed LFO bursts open the track after the breakdown, culminating in what can only be described as an instant piano Italo-house classic.

The legendary Lauer joins the release with another unstoppable remix, using his signature sound and innate ability to elevate an original to next-level heights. Unmistakable pads and chorus-drenched guitars launch into an ascending, rasping riff keeping us hooked from the get go. Lauer’s unique take on Italo Disco and seminal sound are on full display, with an augmented chord pattern that steadily keeps us on our toes. Simply put, Lauer does it once again in full force.

‘Gold’ presents itself as a homage to the finer realms of Italo Disco, but with a modern twist. DOCTR’s reinterpretation of the nostalgic tone, rising celestial arps, and transcendent synth hooks contribute to this sense of evolution. With nods to vaporwave and disco, ‘Gold’ certainly earns its fitting title.

‘Gold’ receives Freudenthal’s special touch completing this release, bringing a muscular bass tone and respectfully enhancing the original’s riff. Freudenthal lifts the energy to that of a peak-time atmosphere, leading us through a carefully woven sonic journey. He builds upon the euphoric and nostalgic emotions of the original with delicate arps and a beautifully fitting counter riff. The label head ties up the EP in innovative style.
