The wait is over: behind the closed doors of Fank's Bakery it has been rumbling for a quite a while, now it is finally time to celebrate the first EP by the gifted groove addict, house aficionado and tech boy Fank. And because on holidays like this one thinks big, Fank sends along half the bakery. Off we go into the three-day week.
As we all know, Friday is the opener of the three-day week, and the recommendation by the master baker is called Freifunk. Funky synths and tight kicks teleport us into the stratosphere. Alongside the original, Johans Brav serves up a Slowrave remix - that's how versatile a Friday night can be.
The secondo is topping it in terms of percussions: Samstekk is the motto, rave the consequence. Stomping along in techhouse style, but enriched with analogue finesse and simple synth sounds, Fank serves us the quintessential dancefloor moment beyond instant food and copy-paste tech. The remix for Saturday comes from Dave Knobs, himself a gifted DJ, producer and studio owner. He uses the window of opportunity and prolongs Saturday night with dry kicks and dramatic breaks - techno helps.
Having eventually made it until Sunday, Sonndub puts some much-needed balm on our souls: sun, dub and vitamin D. In the right place at the right time, a light groove and summery lead synths loosen up any tense muscles. We put on our sunglasses and stay right where we are.
