Apologies to DJ Premier, but his introductory speech sample couldn’t sum up this skit any better. The concept: to try and replicate the sound of flicking through an old dusty easy listening album without the use of an old dusty easy listening album! In other words, artificially recreating easy listening tracks, or at least little bits of easy listening tracks, in the computer and simulating the sound of the ‘flick’. A sound any true beat digging producer will be oh so familiar with.
