Six post-punk-pop songs wrestling with, among other things, control — wanting it, fear of losing it. Resisting being controlled by others, and yet being so overwhelmed by the illusion of choice that it would be so much easier if someone else was in charge. Everton sings with Fall-esque sarcasm about the contempt she has for a certain type of person — and with Wipers-y earnestness, the fear she has of becoming that person. Who knew the sound of a zigzag brain trying to cope in a straight world would be so catchy?
